Dr. Ibrahim Waziri Jr.
Previously, Dr. Waziri served as Global Insider Risk and Incident Governance Lead in Google Cloud’s CISO organization. His work there included cloud insider risk management, incident governance, global regulatory response, security due diligence for major acquisitions, and support for Google’s Secure AI Framework (SAIF). These experiences inform his ongoing work on cybersecurity governance, responsible AI, and digital trust.
Before Google, he was a Principal Security Product Manager at Microsoft, building security products for Azure Government and working on incident management and Department of Defense compliance for U.S. national security environments. His earlier career includes roles at Deloitte, RSA Security, and the U.S. International Trade Commission.
Dr. Waziri is a former Cybersecurity Fellow at New America, where he developed GovSCH, an open-source schema for making cybersecurity and AI governance documents machine-readable. He has also served as an Adjunct Professor of Cybersecurity at Marymount University and on nonprofit boards focused on cybersecurity and education. He holds a Ph.D. in Information Security from Purdue University.
